Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Amber Hotel, I had the pleasure of experiencing the local culinary scene, particularly during a memorable lunch at their Essence Restaurant. I was welcomed by a calming ambiance, which provided the perfect backdrop to savour a traditional Vietnamese meal. The goat meat, famed as a regional specialty, was expertly prepared, showcasing the rich flavors of the area; it was both tender and robust, reflecting the vibrant culture surrounding it. Prior to lunch, I attended a captivating cooking demonstration that was exceptionally informative - a delightful way to connect with the local gastronomy. I appreciated the attentive staff, who facilitated my dining experience seamlessly, ensuring I grasped the nuances of the dishes being presented. The location of the hotel allowed for easy exploration of nearby eateries such as Hoang's and Bun Cha Ta, enhancing my culinary journey through the Old Quarter. While I chose to dine in-house, I would certainly encourage fellow food enthusiasts to explore the local gems beyond the hotel walls. The Amber Hotel seamlessly intertwines comfort and local cuisine, making it an excellent base for those seeking both relaxation and gastronomic exploration.
